Many people often ask where the name ''Lost Planet Tattoo'' came from. Some have wondered if it was just pulled out of thin air one day, while others wonder if there is a story behind it...and, thus...a tale to tell. If you are one of the later, you are correct.
The name ''Lost Planet Tattoo'' is actually a tribute to an internationally acclaimed artist and musician, as well as personal friend of Lucky Eddie for years, the great Commander Cody. Commander Cody is a piano player, as well as front man, for his group ''Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen'' which he formed in the mid-1960's and subsequently put a hit single inside the Billboard Top Ten charts, called ''Hot Rod Lincoln'' in 1972. Known for his syncopated, eight-to-the-bar, honky tonk rhythmn, ''Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen'', while having many fans world wide, have no bigger fan than Lucky Eddie, himself, and you will always see him front and center at the Commander's shows and the shop's name today, as it always has been in the past, is intended to pay tribute to a great musician, artist and personal friend...the great Commander Cody!
